1900 – It has been months since DOROTHY GALE was blown away by a twister and ended up in the Land of Oz. But, upon her return, her family AUNT EM and UNCLE HENRY do not believe her tales. What sounded like childish nonsense has turned into obsession, Dorothy growing depressed, now questioning her own stories. Dorothy searches the farm for the Silver Shoes that magically transported her home. The Gales have struggled to rebuild their lives, with Uncle Henry’s limb growing increasingly worse, forcing Dorothy to start helping out more around the farm.

Reimagining - Oz the Great and Powerful
As you know, I am a big fan of The Wizard of Oz and its various adaptations. Oz the Great and Powerful, the 2013 Disney film, was a very enjoyable movie, but has a few flaws. James Franco is incredibly likeable as the titular Wizard, but doesn’t really go through a proper character arc from con man to good man and humbug. Another issue is the character Theodora, who becomes the Wicked Witch of the West. Though, I enjoyed Mila Kunis’ performance, I find it hard to believe, in retrospective, how such a naïve character like Theodora becomes the most iconic movie villain of all-time.
